We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator for almost $800. When the delivery came the refrigerator was dented in the back, they broke my wall putting it into the kitchen and cracked my tile.

They refused to take it back and instead sent and *** repair man who had no idea what he was doing. He proceeded to open and close the door hitting our kitchen cabinets each time. He shone the flashlight inside the refrigerator. I informed the service company before they came that it needed the screws on the bottom because the wheel were locked and the refrigerator could not move.

This is what caused the crack in my tile. The brand new refrigerator required that the cooling dial be turned up 3/4 of the way. Usually by the time you are almost at maximum the refrigerator is usually years old. The service department said that this was absolutely normal.

The instructions that came with the refrigerator said to set the dial halfway and then lower it. So obviously this refrigerator was not going to last. Every summer after that we have had problems. We can not open the refrigerator because the cooling would not work properly.

It would plunge into very warm temperatures. My food would spoil. I did not ask for another service man because they said they could not guarantee that the next person would be any better and we were afraid that he would do even more damage. Now a few years later we are up to maximum and the unit is not cooling.

We are afraid to open the fridge. I have never had such an aggravating experience as I have had with PC Richard. They are completely unprofessional once they get the money. They sell lemons.

That is why their prices are a little lower. Frankly they are not even that low when you consider the poor quality of the appliances, the delivery people, and the repair people (both the customer service people and the people that they send to do the repairs).

You are so worn out afterwards by the run around that you wind up keeping a defective model and had to do the repairs myself with the help of one nice Whirlpool customer service person. Stay clear of PC Richards and Whirlpool.

Reason of review: Several of the above.

Monetary Loss: $800.

Pc Richard And Son Cons: Sell defective appliances, Delivery service, Poor poor customer service.

Location: Bronx, New York
